ENTRANCE Research AWARD

Entrance Research Award

During the academic conference Full Day of Energy & Mobility Transition, powered by New Energy Forum 2026, researchers, students and professionals will come together to discuss key challenges and innovations in the energy and mobility transition.

The New Energy Forum is known for highlighting inspiring initiatives driven by courage and action. The 2025 edition welcomed more than 1,700 participants and, for the first time, included an academic programme. Following its success, the programme will return in an expanded format in 2026.

Academic Conference, 17–18 June 2026

The academic conference will take place on 17 June and the morning of 18 June 2026. This allows participants to also attend New Energy Forum 2026, which starts on 18 June at 12:00.

During the conference, researchers and students will present their work in a series of parallel sessions. The programme focuses on the role of research and innovation in advancing the energy and mobility transition.

Call for Papers

Researchers and students from universities and universities of applied sciences working on topics related to energy transition or sustainable mobility are invited to submit an abstract (maximum 400 words, in English).

Selected contributions will be presented during the conference and included in a conference proceedings publication, which will be shared with participants of the New Energy Forum.

The submission process consists of two steps:

  1. Submission of an abstract
  2. Submission of a full paper for the conference proceedings

For the first time, the Entrance Research Award will be presented to the best research paper submitted to the conference. An independent national jury will evaluate the papers based on their scientific quality, including the robustness of the research, methodology, and theoretical foundation. In addition, the jury will consider the paper’s impact, particularly its contribution to the energy or mobility transition, as well as the originality of the research.

Abstracts (maximum 400 words, in English) can be submitted via: abstract@newenergyforum.nl

To recognise outstanding contributions, the jury will award three prizes:

  • €1,500 for the best paper
  • €1,000 for the runner-up
  • €500 for the third place

The detailed evaluation criteria will be published on the 1st of April 2026 on the New Energy Forum website.
