Op donderdag 23 juni 2022 heeft de tweede editie van New Energy Forum plaatsgevonden. Meer dan 1000 bezoekers kwamen af op het festival voor de (aanstaande) mobiliteits- en energieprofessional. Het thema was ‘Breaking Barriers’, gericht op baanbrekende innovaties, ontwikkelingen en kennis op het gebied van mobiliteit en de energietransitie.

Het festival vond plaats op een zonnige zomerse dag met inspirerende sprekers en gemotiveerde bezoekers! Zo waren er veel jonge studenten en ook ervaren professionals, een mooie mix van de huidige en toekomstige generatie. New Energy Forum werd geopend door Sander Heijne, onderzoeksjournalist en historicus waar hij met zijn keynote de bezoekers informeerde over de huidige hang naar economische groei terwijl dit geen noodzaak is. De andere keynote sprekers waren Marjan Minnesma van stichting Urgenda, Auke Hoekstra van de Technische Universiteit over de trends in mobiliteit, SAVE over het creëren van publiek draagvlak in de energietransitie en Kate Raworth over de Donut Economie.
Naast de keynote sprekers waren er verschillende activiteiten waar bezoekers aan konden deelnemen zoals, workshops, masterclasses en debatten. De studenten van de Hanzehogeschool hebben hun onderzoeken gepresenteerd en over het festivalterrein konden de bezoekers genieten van lokale hapjes, drankjes en met de zomerse temperaturen heerlijke bolletjes ijs.
Tussen alle inspirerende sessies door liepen de bezoekers tussen de vele spectaculaire demonstraties door. Zo was er een waterstof sloep, een elektrische compactkraan met VR-experience, performances van Minerva studenten en nog veel meer! Wil je het New Energy Forum (her)beleven? Tijdens deze editie van New Energy Forum is ook de eerste EnTranCe Award uitgereikt. De EnTranCe Award is een aanmoedigingsprijs voor diegenen die de transitie vooruit helpen door innovatieve oplossingen te bedenken, uit te voeren, of groot te maken. Het prijzenpakket ter waarde van €100.000,- bestaat uit €25.000,- voor ontwikkeling, experimenteer- en onderzoekfaciliteiten, kennis, educatie en een netwerk binnen de energietransitie.
Een deskundige jury heeft drie genomineerden geselecteerd. Deze baanbrekers zijn geselecteerd op hun bijdrage aan de energietransitie, schaalbaarheid en of er baat is bij ondersteuning. On Thursday 23 June, the second edition of New Energy Forum took place. More than 1000 visitors came to the festival for the (future) mobility and energy professional. The theme was ‘Breaking Barriers’, focusing on groundbreaking innovations, developments and knowledge in the field of mobility and the energy transition.
The festival took place on a sunny summer’s day with inspiring speakers and motivated visitors! There were many young students and also experienced professionals, a nice mix of the current and future generation. New Energy Forum was opened by Sander Heijne, investigative journalist and historian, where his keynote informed the visitors about the current drive for economic growth while it is not a necessity. The other keynote speakers were Marjan Minnesma of the Urgenda Foundation, Auke Hoekstra of the Technical University on trends in mobility, SAVE on creating public support for energy transition and Kate Raworth on Doughnut Economics.
Besides the keynote speakers, visitors could participate in various activities such as workshops, master classes and debates. Students from the Hanzehogeschool presented their research and across the festival grounds, visitors could enjoy local snacks, drinks and, with the summer temperatures, delicious scoops of ice cream.
Between all the inspiring sessions, the visitors walked between the many spectacular demonstrations. There was a hydrogen sloop, an electric compact crane with VR-experience, performances by Minerva students and much more! Do you want to (re)experience the New Energy Forum? During this edition of New Energy Forum, the first EnTranCe Award was also presented. The EnTranCe Award is an incentive prize for those who help the transition by devising innovative solutions, implementing them or making them big. The prize package worth €100,000 includes €25,000 for development, experimental and research facilities, knowledge, education and a network within the energy transition.
An expert jury has selected three nominees. These trailblazers were selected on the basis of their contribution to the energy transition, scalability and whether they would benefit from support.
