Helaas… de pods komen er (nog) niet. Hoewel de inschrijving een grap was, weten we dat het gebrek aan werkplekken op Entrance een serieus punt van aandacht is. Lol in je werk hangt immers nauw samen met het hebben van een goede landingsplek.

Omdat samen lachen op de werkvloer essentieel is, zeker als de druk hoog is. Maar we begrijpen de serieuze ondertoon: ons onderzoek groeit hard en de fysieke ruimte is momenteel simpelweg beperkt. We weten dat jullie soms gericht en geconcentreerd moeten kunnen werken en dat de huidige drukte uitdagend is.

De sleutel tot de oplossing

Hoewel we de vierkante meters niet direct kunnen uitbreiden, geloven we niet in mensen ‘ophokken’. Juist de sociale interactie maakt Entrance tot wat het is. De sleutel voor nu ligt in het maken van goede, gezamenlijke afspraken over hoe we de beschikbare ruimte slim delen.

Blik op de toekomst

Al vast een doorkijkje: volgend jaar verhuizen we van de EAE naar een gloednieuw, te ontwikkelen ‘Onderzoeksplein’. Dit gaan we doen vanuit een heldere visie, waarbij we het traject zó inrichten dat de betrokken collega’s direct worden meegenomen in de plannen.

Unfortunately… the pods aren’t coming, at least not for now. Although the sign-up was a joke, we know that the lack of workspaces at Entrance is a serious concern. After all, enjoying your work goes hand in hand with having a comfortable place to work.

Why this joke?

Because laughing together in the workplace is essential, especially when the pressure is high. But we understand the serious undertone: our research is growing rapidly and the physical space is simply limited at the moment. We know that you sometimes need to be able to work with focus and concentration, and that the current hustle and bustle is challenging.

The key to the solution

Although we cannot immediately expand the floor space, we do not believe in ‘caging’ people in. It is precisely social interaction that makes Entrance what it is. The key for now lies in making good, joint agreements on how we share the available space wisely.

Looking into the future

Here’s a sneak peek: next year, we’re moving from the EAE to a brand-new ‘Research Square’ that is yet to be developed. We’ll be doing this based on a clear vision, organising the process in such a way that the colleagues involved are immediately included in the plans.
